Garland Keith Lucas

“Chief” Garland Lucas, FBI, 53, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Abilene. 

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday November 30, 2018 at the Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with his son, Boyd Lucas Hale and Harry Ackers, officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. 

Garland was born on July 20, 1965 in Crowell, Texas to Boyd and Angel (Youngblood) Lucas.  He and Annie Moeller were married on August 25, 2016 in Portland, Maine.  Garland worked as a journeyman welder.  He was a veteran of the Air Force and a dedicated supporter of the Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets MC. He and Annie moved from Portland, Maine to Abilene in 2012.    

Garland was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Lucas in 1973; his grandparents, Grover and Margaret Coffman and Buster and Arlene Dishman.  

Survivors include his wife Annie of Abilene; two sons, Boyd Lucas Hale of Clyde, Texas and Garland Keith Lucas, II of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six daughters, Amanda Lucas of Port Comfort, Texas, Dawn Lucas Hale of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gillian Lucas of Abilene, Julie and Maggie of Portland, Maine, and Crystal of Orlando, Florida; his stepfather and mother, Stephen and Angel Chick of Abilene; six brothers, Gaylon Lucas of Keysport, Illinois, Robert Miller of Naperville, Illinois, Eric Chick of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Lucas of Wichita Falls, Texas, Chris Lucas of Burkburnett, Texas, and William Lucas of Wichita Falls; mother and sisters-in-law, Barbara, Kathy, JB, and Glenice all from Portland, Maine; numerous aunts, uncles and many cousins from around the U.S. as well as his brothers in arms, Abilene Vet Center, Kansas, Maine, Florida, and Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be his brothers, Gaylon Lucas, Robert Miller, Eric Chick, Kevin Lucas, Chris Lucas and William Lucas.
