Gail Marie (Lee) McMillan, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at her home. The daughter of Violet and Oscar Lee, Gail was born on June 30, 1937 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She graduated from Gruver High School in Gruver, Texas in 1955. Gail married her high school sweetheart, Tony Allen McMillan on December 22, 1955 in Gruver. Their home was Abilene with brief periods of time spent in Vermillion, South Dakota; Clarksville, Texas and Little Rock, Arkansas. She spent time working at Hillcrest Church, Quality Printing, and many years at Key City Veterinary Clinic. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ for over 50 years.
Gail is survived by her sons, Mark Allen McMillan and wife, Kim, of Abilene; and Brent Lee McMillan and wife, Renea, of Coleman; and daughters, Tonya Lynn Ward and husband, Rick, of Weatherford; and Stacy Rene McElfresh of Abilene. She was also survived by 13 grandchildren, Luke and wife Emily, Cole and wife Allie, Brittni and husband Josh and Whitney and husband Matt; Jason and Hannah Ward; Ryder, Rowdy, and Eva Marie McElfresh. Great grandchildren Tinley, Foster, Breanna, Jackson, Heston, Carson, Maverick, Rylee, Ashlie, Addison, Larmi, and Rhepp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Dean Lee, a sister Margret Lee and a beloved son in law, Dennis McElfresh; grandson, Guy McMillan and great-grandson, Stockton Shorb.
She loved doing volunteer work at the Gift Shop at Hendrick Hospital. She was very involved in the Taylor County Extension Service. She spent most of her life teaching the Bible to children and loving her animals.
Pallbearers will be Bonner Cardwell, Ryder McElfresh, Josh Kaczyk, Matt Shorb, Luke McMillan, Cole McMillan, and Jason Ward. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Hale, Brian Burton, and Gary Varner.
The family will be at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road from 5:00-7:00 on February 21, 2025 for visitation.
Funeral Services will be held on February 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Church of Christ, 650 East Ambler, with Terry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Potosi Cemetery.
