Beaver Harris, 58, died Friday, March 17, 2006 in Abilene. A memorial service, with Reverend David Cason officiating, will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2006 in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Beaver was born September 5, 1947 in Gorman, Texas to G.W. and Peggy Finwick Harris. Beaver attended school in Abilene and in 1966, he graduated from Cooper High School. On April 11, 1968 he married Kay Faulkner and the couple made Abilene their home. He began working at Central Texas Iron Works and then Western Marketing before starting his own welding service which he operated for more than 11 years. Beaver then began working as a system analyst in the fuel industry working for Auto Gas / AFCO for over 20 years. He was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church. Beaver was one of the most genuine friend you could ever have, and in addition to his friends, he loved his "Punkin" and his "Star".
Survivors include: his wife, Kay Harris of Abilene; his daughter, Brandye Harris and Kelli Blain of Abilene; his mother, Peggy Skaggs of Carrolton, Texas; a brother, Johnny Lee Harris and wife Storma of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters, Peggy Nowon Hastings and husband Carol of Abilene, and Shirley Ann McLothin and husband Larry of Carrolton, Texas; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles as well as his trusty horse, Star and his faithful dog, Punkin.
