William Edward Clinton, Jr., 76, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Ed was born to William Edward Clinton Sr. and Iola Olivia (Hamilton) Clinton on February 6, 1941 in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School and served in the United States Army. While in the Army he was awarded the U.S. Army Sharpshooter Marksman Medal, before he was honorably discharged. Ed owned and operated "Friendly Ed's Furniture" in Abilene. He was a member of the Abilene Jaycee's and Victory Church in Abilene.
Ed is survived by two sons, Darrin W. Clinton and Gary S. Clinton; one daughter, Phoenicia Clinton; one brother, James "AJ" Clinton; grandchildren: Alex Clinton, Jack E. Clinton, Christopher Clinton, Mathew Clinton, Caelen Clinton and Olivia Clinton.
The family would like to thank Richard Austin, attorney Sam Chase, Dr. Elizabeth M. Bement of Hendrick Medical Center and Rev. Harvey Jackson.
