Fred Williams, 84, of Abilene, Texas passed away Friday, January 13th at his home after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, at 11:30 AM, The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Rd., Abilene, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Fred was born in Hermleigh, Texas to Ross and Delia Reed Williams along with twin brother Ted, his best friend, on January 29, 1932. He married Patsy Holder Williams on October 15, 1954 in Fluvanna, Texas. He worked as a Sales Rep for Williams Tool Company. He was a Marine and veteran of the Korean War. Fred was a member of Southern Hills church of Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, daughters Kim Munden and Tracy of College Station, Melissa Hinshaw and Luke of Lubbock, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He is also survived by two brothers, Ted Williams of Post, Texas, Tommy Williams of Bozeman, Montana, and one sister Izora Browning of Midland, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Mason Denton, Ty Denton, Turner Munden, Kellan Munden, Lukas Hinshaw, Jaden Hinshaw, and Micah Hinshaw.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Luke Hinshaw, Mika, and Natalie, Dr. Caleb Salee, Dr. Craig Barker of Lubbock, Interim Hospice of Abilene, and especially Jamey, Lisa, and Nikki.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels, 717 N. 10th Street, Abilene, Texas or a charity of your choice.
