Francis Foster, 72, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006 at her home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 17 in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery.
Francis was born on March 25, 1934 in Clyde, Texas to Robert Lee Payne and Emma Dean (Ledbetter) Payne. She graduated from Eula High School. Francis was employed by MIC, GMAC, Western Chevrolet and Manly Ballard State Farm Insurance Company before moving to Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma she was a rancher for 23 years before returning to Abilene. She married Billy Wayne Foster in Abilene. She was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church.
Francis was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bob Payne, and her husband of 39 years, Billy Foster, in 1995. She is survived by one son, Mark Foster and his wife Darlene of Abilene; three step-sons, Russell Foster and his wife Judy of Abilene, David Foster and his wife Vicky of Eula, Rodger Foster and his wife Judy Ann of Abilene; one daughter, Treyhon Linley and her husband Earnest of Abilene; one brother, Doyle Payne and his wife Feona of Morris, Oklahoma; two sisters Nadena Williams of Abilene and Wynona Goodman of Durango, Colorado; 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
