Francis Alvin Bachmeyer

Francis Alvin “Al” Bachmeyer Francis Alvin “Al” Bachmeyer, 73, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at an Abilene medical center. The son of Dorothy (Mock) and Frank M. Bachmeyer, he was born on November 15, 1939 in Cody, Texas, and received his Bachelor degree from Texas A & M University. He married Dolores Henneke on June 22, 1968 in Hallettsville, Texas. Al was an air traffic controller, having retired in 2003. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene. Al was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Francis Bachmeyer, in 1974, and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Bachmeyer of Abilene; son, Jacob Bachmeyer of Abilene; daughter, Sharon Dwyer and husband Michael of McKinney; and granddaughter, Molly Dwyer. Al is also survived by two brothers, Richard Bachmeyer of Richardson, TX, and G. Roy Bachmeyer of Denver, CO; and two sisters, Lavada Balke of Pasadena, TX and Marie Gumienny of New Baden, TX. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Fred Nawarskas officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
