Frances Aleen Mashburn Cooley Tackett Frances Aleen Mashburn Cooley Tackett, 93, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Abilene at her residence. Born in Stith, Texas, in Jones County on April 2, 1921, Frances was the daughter of Loma (Bankston) and Willie “PeeWee” Mashburn. She had been a Deputy for Frio County, Texas. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jimmy Harland Cooley in 1959; second husband, George Pete Tackett; three brothers, Ray Mashburn, Don Mashburn and Bobby Mashburn; and grandson, Jim Lewis Hayes. Survivors include her two daughters, Caryn Hayes and Donna Nelson both of Abilene; four grandchildren and spouses, Donetta Wallace and David, Kimberly Buehler and Mike; Stacey Beal; and Christopher Nelson and Shelley; nine great-grandchildren and spouses, Jamie Dugan and Timothy, Janelle Dean and Michael, Brittany Nelson, Baxter Nelson, Dexter Nelson, Madeline Beal, Brooklyn Beal, Alysha Wallace, and Brandi Posada and Julian; and four great-great-grandchildren, Nolan, Cason, Lillia and Eric. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 5th at 2918 Arlington Avenue.
