Frances Annette McDonald, 84, of Abilene, formerly of Conroe, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 11:00 am at Elmwood Memorial Park followed by a graveside service at 12:00. Chris McCurley will officiate. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Annette was born September 7, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Travis and Joyce (Tyre) Bowers. She and her family moved to Lubbock and then eventually the family moved to Lamesa, Texas where she graduated high school.

She attended Abilene Christian College where she met her husband, Joe McDonald. They married on September 1, 1957, in Lamesa, Texas. She loved being a homemaker and was a wonderful wife, mom and granny.

She was currently a member at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ, but a long-time member at Longmire Road Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Jimmie Marie Metts. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe McDonald of Abilene; one daughter, Pam Mauldin and husband Darrell of Abilene, two sons, Tim McDonald and wife Tammy of Missouri City, and Jon McDonald and wife Julie, of Abilene; two sisters, Sarah Hancock and husband Harold, of Burnet, and Nancy Peterson and husband Eddie of Snyder; two sisters-in-law, Garnetta Stanyer of South Lake, and Lurany Jones of Conroe, one brother-in-law Tommy McDonald of Conroe, and seven grandchildren, Travis and Connor Mauldin; Casey Pollard, Katie Marchant and Callie Lucas, Dustin and Wyatt Wink, and six great-grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons, and grandsons-in-law: Travis Mauldin, Connor Mauldin, Justin Pollard, Luke Marchant, Garrett Lucas, Dustin Wink and Wyatt Wink.

Special thanks to Hendrick Hospice and Touching Hearts for such quality and loving care. Also, a big thank you to the Wesley Court Community for the support to the family and the wonderful friendships. Memorial donations may be made in Annette's honor to Oldham Lane Church of Christ, 5049 Oldham Lane, Abilene, TX 79602 or a charity of your choice.
