Foye Lenzy Flood of Abilene passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior on November 7, 2015. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 10th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 11th at St. James United Methodist Church, 3100 Barrow Street Abilene, Texas. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. at Oakwood Cemetery, Cisco, Texas.
Foye was born in Jones County to Jesse Neal Flood and Lillie Tempey Neal on November 4, 1930. He attended school at Boyd’s Chapel, graduated from Anson High School, and graduated from Cisco Junior College, Hardin Simmons and Texas Tech. He married Jeannette Hansen on July 21st 1951 in Cisco, Texas. He worked as a teacher, principal and superintendent at Plains, New Deal and Seymour. Following retirement, he sold real estate for Sentor Realtors, played golf, worked at the family ranch and spent time playing games with family and friends. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, a Free Mason and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Foye was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and two brothers.
Foye is survived by his wife of 64 years Jeannette; daughters, Sherry Graham of Abilene, Janna Walkup and husband Scott of Lubbock, sons; Denzil Flood and wife Lisa of Brownwood, Bradley Flood and wife Gerri of Wolfforth. One sister; Connie Roe. Grandchildren; Cory, Addie, Rae Lyn, Alex, Justin, Kaylee and Jared as well as nine great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels and Hendrick Hospice Care. The Family of Foye Flood wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hendrick Hospice Care and the St. James family for all of their love and special care.
