Faye worked for the Abilene State School as a beautician for 32 years. After retiring, she and Pete joined the Good Sam Traveling Club and travelled to many places in the USA. They were members of the Rainbow Traveling Club. Faye and Pete both volunteered for the Abilene Food Bank and delivered Meals on Wheels. Faye had been a faithful member of Highland Church of Christ since 1946 and was a longtime member of Women for ACU which honored students with scholarships.
She is survived by two sons, Lelon Norman and wife Susan of Liberty Hills, Texas, and Gary Norman and partner Butch Brannon of Abilene; one brother, Cleddy Varner and wife Pat of Abilene; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her husband Pete, her parents, five sisters and one brother.
Faye loved all of her family very much, and there are many memories of playing Train, Chicken Foot, and Forty-Two. She served Pete as a faithful elder’s wife and traveled with him on many Herald of Truth trips. She loved to crochet Afghan throws, and many enjoyed getting her famous net scrubbers. She loved being around her family and friends, and treasured their times at the lot on the Brazos River at Horseshoe Bend. She will be dearly missed, but Heaven has gained another very special angel.
