Faye Jeanette (Whitley) Glover went to meet her Lord on April 26, 2023, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Iberis Cemetery in Abilene, with Rev. John Fanning, Rev. Darrin Ray and Rick Grant officiating. Faye will be available for viewing on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Faye was born on February 23, 1926, in Denton, Texas to J.A. (Bud) Whitley and Susie Mae (Smith) Whitley and later moved to Taylor County settling in the Iberis community near Wylie. She attended school at Iberis and later Wylie schools. She married Roger (Fritz) Glover on May 14, 1940, and they were blessed with 4 children, Kenneth, Dean, Janice, and Patty. Faye delighted in being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Faye professed her faith in Jesus Christ at age 13 at Neill Baptist Church, later Wylie. She was a member of Wylie Baptist Church since 1949. Faye served the church in many capacities, Sunday School teacher, choir, and The Living Christmas Tree.
Faye served her community by overseeing the needs of the Iberis Cemetery for 54 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, daughter Janice Kelley, granddaughter Karen Bowden, son-in-law Rick Kelley, brother Omer Whitley, sister Maedell Cheairs, and niece Becky Moody.
Faye is survived by sister Inez Williams, son Kenneth Glover and wife Gloria, son Dean Glover wife Pam, daughter Patty Karr and husband Marty. Grandchildren Keith Glover and wife Angie, Randy Glover and wife Amy, Michael Hutcheson and wife Stephanie, Deanna Barker and husband Donovan, Lori Brothers, Andy Kelley, John Karr and wife Brooke, and Kristen Kirkland and husband Clint. Great-Grandchildren Makenzie, Drew, Jack, Donovan, Kerbie, Charlie, Avery, Dylan, Alyssa, Aspen, Tristan, Chase, Kyla, Haley, Mason, Ryan, Riley, Keegan, Tenlee, and a baby boy due in September. 4 Great-Great grandsons and a Great-Great granddaughter on the way.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wylie Baptist Church, Meals on Wheels, Iberis Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 6846, Abilene, Texas 79608, or your favorite charity.
