Evelyn Elizabeth Price

Evelyn Elizabeth Price of Abilene, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2013. A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Evelyn was born in Abilene, Texas, to Welburn and Daisy Curry on July 30, 1920. She graduated from Abilene High School. She was married to Frederick Eugene Price in Panama in 1941. They were married for 53 years prior to his death in 1993 in Boise, Idaho. Evelyn was a homemaker, loving mother, and an Air Force Officer’s wife. Throughout her life she volunteered for many organizations such as the State School, the Soup Kitchen in Boise, Idaho, Meals on Wheels and Christian Service Center in Abilene, as well as numerous church projects. She was a very gentle, caring, Christian woman who put the needs of others above her own. She was a member of Oldham Lane Church of Christ. Evelyn is survived by Sherry Summerlin and spouse Ron Cohen of Houston, Texas; Frederick Eugene Price Jr. and spouse Patricia of Greensboro, North Carolina; Russell Wayne Price and spouse Vicki of Spokane, Washington; and Jill Harding and spouse Max Harding of Abilene. She is greatly loved by 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and her lifelong friend Nell Taylor.
