Evelyn Guitar

Evelyn Guitar, 78, a lifelong resident of Abilene, Texas died Thursday, July 2, 2015 in Abilene. The daughter of Ruth (Ladd) and William B. Guitar, Jr., she was born on December 13, 1936 in Abilene, Texas. She lived all of her life in the same house, her family home which is 100 years old. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with an Art Degree. She was a Methodist. Evelyn was a dog breeder and trainer for the City of Abilene. Her mission was to train dogs in a way which would allow them to share a good companionship and home with their owner for their entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Billene Guitar Walker. Evelyn is survived by her longtime friend, Hertha Choate of Abilene; her beloved standard Poodle, Lolita; one nephew and two nieces. A viewing will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, in Abilene Municipal Cemetery, Cedar Hill Section.
