Eva Ann Allen Lanier Killian, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at an Abilene medical center.
The daughter of Alma (Thorp) and J. T. Allen, she was born on May 10, 1929 in Stamford, Texas, where she graduated from high school and was a twirler in the band. Most of her life she had been a resident of Abilene, where she was owner of Eva's Wigs, and previously worked at Abilene Reporter-News.
Eva married Kenneth O. Killian in Breckenridge, Texas in August, 1970. Mrs. Killian was a Baptist and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Killian; her parents and her brother, Billy Allen.
Survivors include her husband, K. O. Killian, daughter Lisa Anne Carter and husband Nick, and sons Mike Lanier and wife Kay and Ricky Killian, all of Abilene. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brooks Lanier, Mikea Lanier Glenn, Kara Short and Brittany Carter; four great-grandchildren, Lanier Brooks Glenn, Abbey Short, Dayton Short and Devin Short; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
