Eusebia Castro Ruiz

Eusebia Ruiz, 92, died Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Abilene. A prayer service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral Mass will be at the Saint Francis Catholic Church, Tuesday at 10:00 a.m with Father Thomas Manimala officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Eusebia was born on August 14, 1914 in Rockdale, Texas to Juan and Dolores (Nino) Castro. She was married to Martin Ruiz on March 14, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas. They were married for 64 years. She moved to Abilene from Cactus, Texas in 1979. Eusebia was a member of the Saint Francis Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Enrique Ruiz, Sr; two brothers, Gerardo Castro and Leonardo Castro; two sisters, Romana Castro and Apolonia Castro and two grandsons, Ricardo DeHoyos and Francisco Ruiz. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Martin Ruiz, Jr. and Reynaldo Ruiz both of Abilene; seven daughters; Herlinda Ruiz DeHoyos of Clyde, Paula Ruiz Aguilera of Amarillo, Rosa Ruiz Sanchez of Etter, Rosario Ruiz Gauna of Abilene, Gloria Ruiz DeHoyos of Abilene, Rebeca Ruiz of Round Rock and Minerba Ruiz of Abilene; three brothers, Luciano Castro of Fresno, California, Cleofas Castro of Cactus, Texas and Ricardo Castro of Lockney, Texas; thirty-four grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. Ruben Guerrero, Henry Ruiz, Jr., Rey Ruiz, Jr., Fernando Ruiz, Paul Ruiz, David Sanchez, Miguel Gauna, Joey DeHoyos, Mark Aguilera, Abel Longoria and Emilio Ruiz will serve as pallbearers.
