Eunice Thurman

Eunice Thurman, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in Abilene, Texas. Born in Denver, Colorado on July 15, 1923, Eunice was the daughter of Esther (Peterson) and David Carlson. She was a homemaker. She and her husband, George Eldon Thurman, moved from Marble Falls, Texas, to Abilene on October 1, 2007. Eunice was a member of First Baptist Church in Marble Falls, and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Abilene. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband on October 22, 2007, and her parents. Survivors include her three daughters, Carol Cost of Abilene, and Marilyn Johnson and Nancy Smith both of Marble Falls; five grandchildren, Deanna Pfister, William Johnson, Michelle Hibler, Tracy Shirley and Ruth Templeton; and nine great-grandchildren as well as one on the way. In Abilene, the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 18, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held in Marble Falls, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at First Baptist Church in Marble Falls with Rev. Max Copeland officiating, assisted by Rev. Weldon French. Interment will follow in Marble Falls City Cemetery. Visitation in Marble Falls will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.
