Eugene "Gene" Ott, 52, died Friday, January 11, 2008. A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at First Christian Church in Abilene under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Pastor Doug Roysden will officiate. Gene was born September 4, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to Walter and Carol (Haug) Ott. He was an Abilene resident for 37 years where he was in the automobile business. Gene was a member of First Christian Church in Abilene, where he volunteered his time serving "Breakfast On Beech Street." Gene was known as a devoted father and a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Carol Ott. Gene is survived by his son, Taylor Eugene Ott, of Abilene; his brother, Alan Ott and his wife Sue, of Chicago, Illinois, and their children, Michael Ott, Melanie and Matt Murdock, and his brother, Barry Ott of Joplin, Missouri; two uncles, Eugene E. Ott, Jr. and Reggie Ott; and one aunt, Eva Mae Seaman and her husband Jeff. Memorials may be made in honor of Gene to First Christian Church, or "Breakfast On Beech Street"1420 North 3rd Street, Abilene, Texas 79601
