Emmitt Alonzo Moore, 86, of Hawley, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at his home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 25th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery in Hodges, TX. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, July 24th at the funeral home.
Emmitt was born July 31, 1934 in Munday, Texas to Will Moore and Nina Pearl Kemp. He served in the United States Army as a mechanic. After serving in the Army, he worked for Automation Industries and U.S. Brass as a Machinist. April 4, 1966, he married Bea Moore. Emmitt was a master gardener. He loved to go to Bible Baptist Church in Clyde, TX. He taught all of his grandchildren how to drive in the field at the farm. Emmitt was an Assistant Scout Master in the Boy Scouts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kayla Owen; four brothers, John Moore, Junior Moore, Jerry Moore and Howard Moore; three sisters, Vernie Bryan, Bertha Williams and Julie Maxwell and one granddaughter, Courtney Moore.
Emmitt is survived by his love, Bea Moore; his son, Rickie Moore and wife Stephanie of Abilene; his daughter, April Bennett and husband Mark of Abilene; grandchildren, Cody and Colton Moore, Austin, Andrew and Allison Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Austin Bennett, Andrew Bennett, Cody Moore, Colton Moore, Glenn Bryan and David Cook.
