Emmanuel Mutunzi, 47, of Abilene, passed away on March 9, 2013 in Ft. Worth, TX.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM Saturday, March 16 at New Hope Church, 3122 S. Clack, Abilene, Texas 79606.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday March 16 at New Hope Church with Pastor Chuck Farina of New Hope Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Emmanuel was born in the Republic of Congo to Saveri Hakizimana and Oram Nyirangororoka on June 6, 1965. He married Anastasie Nyiramatungo on December 28, 1980. From 1994 until 2007 He lived in Rwanda where He was the president of a bank. He came to live in the United States in 2007 as a Political Asylee. While in Africa he was involved in ministries throughout the continent on radio, television and in church planting. While in Abilene He was involved in New Hope Church and New Song Ministries. He was involved with helping many African Refugees and spoke at conferences around the nation.
Emmanuel was preceded in death by his brother Isaac Semahoro.
Emmanuel is survived by his wife Anastasie Nyiramatungo; sons Janvier Bagaza and Olivier Muhorana; daughters Chantal Mpogazi, Diane Ingabire, and Jeanine Uwamahoro; brothers Jeremy Rususuruka, Blaise Iranzi, Charles Muvuzi, and Eric Rujanika; sisters Anita Nyiragabiro, Ester Nyamunyura, Zipora Beza and Esperance Bigenimana.
Pallbearers will be Michel Kanyambo, Dieudonne Bizimana, Paul Ndasarara, Chekvala Mudagiri, Jackson Muganura, and Blaise Iranzi.
Memorials may be given through New Hope Church. The family of Emmanuel wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the members of New Hope Church as well as the members of the many African congregations of Abilene.
