Emma Loraine Spykes

Emma Loraine (Pollard) Spykes, 65, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at a local medical center. Cremation arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. No services are scheduled. Emma was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jack Pollard and Juanita (Wells) Pollard on September 12, 1950. She went to school in Denison, Texas. She married Ronnie Spykes on May 10, 1974 in Denison. They made Abilene their home since 1988. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack, her mother, Juanita, her husband, Ronnie, her brother, George and sister, Reba. She is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Spykes and wife, Elizabeth of Abilene and David Bender, also of Abilene; two brothers, Jack Pollard and wife, Debbie, of Livingston, and Fred Pollard, also of Livingston; three sisters, Joyce Edwards and husband, Charles, of Trinity, Marie Gouldie of Houston, and Bonnie Spalding and husband, Doug, of Largo Vista, Texas; two grandsons, Shyan Spykes of Trinity, and Matthew Spykes of Abilene; one granddaughter, Melissa Spykes and boyfriend, Dylan Deleon, of Abilene; two great-grandsons, Praxton Deleon and Emmitt Deleon of Abilene; family/friends, Roy Don and Norma Spykes of Abilene; many nieces and nephews; and caregivers/friends, Kay and Betty.
