Emali Shirlene Jones

On Sunday, May 22nd, Emali Jones was welcomed into heaven following a lifelong battle with illness. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her loved ones that cherished the gift from God that she is. Too many, Emali's life may seem short, but those who were touched by her courage and tenacity understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile would always melt the hearts of those around her, and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. Emali's illness may have made her seem frail; however, she held a strength and perseverance that few ever achieve. Her bravery to face overwhelming odds provided a daily reminder that each breath is a blessing and an opportunity to create everlasting memories. She was a 7th grader in the Wylie Independent School District. Emali is survived by her loving parents, Roland and Andrea Jones; sister Laci Jones, brother David Figueroa, and her many devoted caregivers including her most special Nurse Krystal Cooley. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26th, 2016, from 6-8 pm at the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 27th, 2016 at 10:00 am also at the Hamil Family Funeral Home.
