Elouise Burson

Elouise Bagley Burson, 90, died Monday, July 24, 2017 in Abilene, Texas. Born in Haskell County, Texas on June 11, 1927, Elouise was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Adams) and Raymond Beauford Buntin. She worked as a LVN after completing LVN school. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church. Elouise's passions were mailing cards to her family and friends for all occasions and seeing all of her grandchildren. Elouise was married to M.D. Bagley from 1946 until 1974, and following his death she was married to Stewart Burson from 1976 until his death in 2012. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Dennis Gollihar; brother, Beauford D. Buntin; and sister-in-law, Juanez Buntin. Survivors include her son, Douglas Bagley and his wife Debra of Merkel; daughter, Gayle Gollihar of Merkel; and former daughter-in-law, Bettye Bagley. Elouise is also survived by five grandchildren and spouses, Denise Hines and Ron, Jason Gollihar and Jana, Travis Gollihar and Jessica, Troyce Bagley and Lauren, and Heath Bagley; eight great-grandchildren, Mitchell Gollihar, Seth Gollihar, Morgan Mitchell, Abbigayle Gollihar, Jillian Gollihar, LeighAnna Gollihar, Cheyleigh Gollihar, and Trinity Gollihar; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 28th, at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel. Pallbearers will be Jason Gollihar, Travis Gollihar, Troyce Bagley, Heath Bagley, Mitchell Gollihar and Seth Gollihar. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels Plus, Inc., P.O. Box 903, Abilene, TX 79604, or the donor's favorite charity.
