Elizabeth Wright

Elizabeth Wright, 44, of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 7, 2014 in Abilene. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, September 11, at Highland Church of Christ with Jonathan Stormat and Steve Longmire officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Elizabeth Wright was born in Olney, Texas, March 7, 1970 to Anna Mae Matthews. She went to school in Seymour, Texas. She married Coby Wright on May 6, 2000 in Abilene, Texas. She was extremely talented and poured her entire heart and soul into everything she did in every aspect of life. She was actively involved in any activity in which her children and grandchildren were involved, and was the mother that would do anything for anyone. Her home was open to anyone who needed guidance in their life. Her joy in life came from giving to others. Of all things, her greatest joy in life came from being a Mom and Gigi. She withstood multiple battles including 37 heart surgeries from which she emerged victorious through all and always bounced back stronger than before. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched unselfishly. Elizabeth Wright was preceded in death by Mae Dell Rouswell, James Rouswell and Herman Rouswell. Elizabeth Wright is survived by husband, Coby Wright; son, James Andrew Vita and wife, Latisha; daughter, Telissa Martinez and husband, Jeremy; son, Colton Wright; daughter, Jordon Wright; son, Zachary Wright; and grandchildren, Cam’ron, Jayden, Ja’khra, and Liam, all of Abilene. She is also survived by brother, Michael Matthews and wife, Dianna; mother and friend, Anna Mae Matthews and Bonnie Hamrick; uncle, Luke Rouswell; a very special mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Kitty Wright; and numerous nephews and nieces, as well as many close friends whom she cherished dearly, all of Abilene. Pallbearers will be Adrian Valdez, Jeremy Martinez, J.J. Valdez, Jonathan Sims, Mario Jones and Trey Pervis. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth’s family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5616, Abilene, TX 79608. The family of Elizabeth Wright wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Leverton, who took excellent care of her over the years with the utmost professionalism, and the staffs of both Abilene Regional Medical Center and Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
