Elizabeth Ann Phillips

Elizabeth Ann Beyer Phillips, 92, died Monday, December 17, 2012, at an Abilene nursing home. The daughter of Mary (Vyvial) and Lewis Anton Beyer, Elizabeth was born on June 12, 1920 in Hamby, Texas. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy as class valedictorian and lived most all of her life in the Abilene area. Elizabeth married Morris S. Phillips on October 16, 1952 in Abilene. She was a homemaker and well known for her cooking and baking. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and twelve brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Timothy Morris Phillips and wife Ruth, Gerald Dan Phillips, and Cheryl Callaway and husband Ben all of Abilene; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Fred Nawarskas officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joey Light, Ben Callaway, Bill Bozarth, Dr. Dan Vaughn, Mike McAuliffe and Dr. Jim Sulliman. Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory St., Abilene, TX 79601.
