Elizabeth Morris 88, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at a nursing center in Abilene, Texas.
The daughter of Winnie Gertrude (Norris) and John Loyd Wolfe, she was born on July 27, 1921 in Whitney, Texas. She graduated from high school in Spur, Texas in 1938, and attended Howard Payne University for one year. Elizabeth married Bob Morris in Waco, Texas on September 2, 1950, and moved from Waco to Abilene in 1953. She was a homemaker. Many years ago, Elizabeth was a clerk for Southwestern Bell Telephone for ten years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene for over fifty years.
Her parents and one brother, Cecil Wolfe, preceded Elizabeth in death.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Bob Morris of Abilene, and nephew, Stanley Morris, Jr., and nieces, Kay Lanier and Sue McWilliams, all of Abilene.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, in Garden of the Good Shepherd in Elmwood Memorial Park with Rev. Palmer McCown officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
