Elizabeth Anne Satterfield Hope entered eternal life on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 16, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Elizabeth Anne, better known as Lib, was born in Jackson, Mississippi on October 6, 1928. She grew up in Canton, Mississippi with her parents, Peggy (Satterfield) Perlinsky and Isidor Perlinsky and also spent time in Pasadena, California with her aunt and uncle, Betty and Bill Tyner. Lib graduated from Canton High School and attended the University of Mississippi. In the summer of 1950, she met the love of her life, Alvin Chappell Hope, Jr., and they were married on November 19, 1950 at Grace Episcopal Church in Canton. After years of traveling throughout Texas and Canada as an Army and oil field wife, she and Al settled in Abilene, Texas in 1973. Besides Al, Lib's greatest love was to ensure all her family and friends were happy. She loved cooking for her family and having coffee with her friends. Lib lived a beautiful life and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Satterfield, granddaughter, Elizabeth Chappell Hope, and niece, Melissa Parker.
She is survived by Al, her husband of 64 years; sons, Charles Hope of Arlington, TX and Stephen Hope and his wife, Amy Hope of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Sarah Hope of Arlington, TX, Andrew Hope and his wife, Margaret Hope of Abilene, TX, and Rebecca Hope of Denton, TX. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Carol Satterfield; and nieces and nephew, Michael Woodward, Lisa Holderness, Molly Williams, and Pancho Edwards.
