Elise Ann Ybarra, 32, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on August 6th, 2017, near Clyde, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 11th, 2017 at Beltway Park Church’s South Campus with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Elise was born in Anaheim, California, to Paul and Noelia vander Putten on August 10th, 1984. She graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Electronic Journalism and was a scholarship athlete on the rowing team. She married Adam Ybarra on May 22nd, 2009 in Dana Point, California. She worked as a radio DJ at Manhattan Broadcasting in Manhattan, Kansas, then for the Sedalia, Missouri police department for three years before transferring to the Abilene, Texas Police Department in 2014. She was an advocate for children and volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Adam and Elise welcomed their daughter Noelle into the world on September 21st, 2016.
Elise is survived by husband Adam Ybarra, daughter Noelle Ybarra, sister Nicole Ankenman (Nicholas), brother Jason vander Putten, and parents Jeff and Noelia Vance, and Paul vander Putten.
The Abilene Police Officer’s Association has set up an account at First Financial Bank under account # 02110145014 routing #111301122 for anyone to donate to the Ybarra family.
