Eldon Earl Renfro of Abilene, Texas has gone home to see his Lord and Savior and reunite with his beloved wife Sylvia, on Tuesday, April 27th, 2021.
Visitation will be 5:30 – 7:00 PM on Friday, April 30th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 Saturday, May 1st at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories 5701 US Highway 277 South with David Cason officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Eldon was born in Cross Plains, Texas to Eldon and Jewel Renfro on February 27, 1941. He married Sylvia Knight on May 16th, 1959 in Abilene, Texas. They celebrated 50 years of marriage just before her passing in 2009. Eldon was a jack of all trades. He could build or fix anything. He and Sylvia lived in San Francisco, California while he served his term in the Army. After his honorable discharge they returned to Abilene where he worked for many years as general manager for West Texas Coffee & Equipment. In May of 2007 he retired from McMurry University as Director of Maintenance.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Sylvia, his parents, Eldon and Jewel Renfro, his brother Truitt Renfro, his sisters Mary Frances Motes and Wanda Ruth Woody
He is survived by his children Carla Lane and husband David, Dana Hunt and Husband Zachary, Jeff Renfro and wife Mary, his brother Robert Renfro and wife Martha, his brother-in-law Greg Knight, his grandchildren Kristopher, ShyAnn, Colton, Tori, Eric, Emily, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
