Elaine Murphy

Elaine Murphy, of Abilene, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the age of 75. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 23 at the VFW, Post 6873, 1049 Veterans Drive in Abilene, Texas. Burial will be in the Ogden City Cemetery in Ogden, Utah at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. July 24, 1932, Elaine was born in Ogden Utah to Leigh and Kareen (Nelson) Straw. She was a civil service employee in the United States Air Force. Elaine has been a resident of Abilene for the past nine years, moving from Las Vegas, Nevada. While living in Abilene, she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond Murphy. She is survived by two sons, Kris Robins, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brett L. Robins, of Brigham, Utah; one daughter, Jeanne Nelson, of Stockton California, and a close friend, B.J. Cadwell, of Abilene.
