Eileen Mary Borchert

Eileen Mary Borchert, 79, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Father Fred Nawarskas will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Eileen was born in Quebec City, Quebec on January 28, 1935 to Donat and Eileen Demers. She attended nursing school in Montreal, Quebec where she became a Registered Nurse. Eileen married Joseph Borchert on August 25, 1962 in San Francisco, California. In 2007, Joseph and Eileen moved to Abilene from Mission Viejo, California. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three sons: Stephen John Borchert and wife Joanne and their son Charlie Vandertak of Anaheim, California; Robert “Bobby” Joseph Borchert and wife Sondra and their children, Megan, Margaret and Mary of Lodi, California; and Donald Edward Borchert and wife Debra and their children Jacob, Katherine, Alexander and Andrew of Abilene; two daughters, Sandra Elizabeth McEwan and husband Scott and their children Justin, Ryan and Sean; and Diana Margaret Porter and husband John, all of Mission Viejo, California; and two brothers, Eddie Demers and Pierette Demers, both of Quebec City, Quebec.
