Edward Lynn Wright

Edward Lynn “Ed” Wright, 61, died December 30, 2013 at his residence. Born in Haskell, Texas on November 20, 1952, Ed was the son of Evelyn (Briscoe) Wright and the late Vernon Wright. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1971 – 74), and in 1974, after being honorable discharged from the Marines with the rank of Corporal, moved to Abilene. Ed was manager of Mike’s Wrecking Co. He was a Baptist and a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Ed is survived by his son, Devin Wright and wife Traci of Graham, Texas and granddaughter Tori Wright; mother, Evelyn Wright of Abilene; brother, Darrin Wright and wife Deneice of Abilene; and two sisters, Verlene Messenger of Athens, Texas, and Denise Parham and husband David of Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, officiated by Chaplain Gary Tull of Graham. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas. Memorials may be made in Ed’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
