Edward C. Faircloth, 79, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 22 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services, with Bobby Broyles and Dayton House officiating, will be on Sunday, July 23 at 2:00 pm in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the McBee Cemetery.
Edward was born March 30, 1927 in Hamilton, Texas to William Allan and Ione Pennington Faircloth. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and married his wife "Mary" on October 28, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona. Ed drove for Merchants Fast Motor Lines for over 32 years before retiring in 1989. He drove over a million miles accident free during his career with Merchants.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hugh and Allen Faircloth.
Survivors include: his wife Ruth Juanell "Mary" Faircloth of Abilene; two sons, Bill Faircloth of Brownwood and Edward Faircloth of Virginia; two daughters, Sandra and husband Bill Riley of Ovilla, TX and Dee Anderson of Waco, TX; a brother, Howard Faircloth of Carlsbad, NM; a sister, Edna Woodward of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Benny Twiner and wife Kim, Darrin Adams and wife Amy, Sheryl Marchant, Michelle Anderson, Brandon Faircloth and Forrest Faircloth; seven great grandchildren, Geoffrey Marchant, Chase Twiner, Zach Twiner, Mariah Twiner, Lesley Twiner, Garrett Adams and Gage Adams; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends including very dear and close friends, Vera and O.D. Sumners.
