Edmond H. “Eddie” Hight, Jr.
Edmond H. “Eddie” Hight, Jr., 88, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1st, 2013 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Dr. Cliff Stewart will officiate.
“Eddie”, as he was known by his friends, was born October 10, 1924 in Santa Anna, Texas. He was a Marine veteran of WWII. He worked with Chevron Pipeline for 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Grace Hight, and his wife, Sammie Marie Tyler Hight, whom he was married to for 59 years.
Eddie is survived by his three children, Sandra Kaye Haney, Pam Hight, and Eddie Wayne Hight; two sisters, Wanda Wolf and husband Dale, and Debra Hight; a son-in-law, David Haney; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hight; two granddaughters, Amy Hight and Angie Hill and husband Graham; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jackson, and Lauren. He is also survived by his companion of 7 years, Rita Rasco and her family, Rita Jo Smith and her daughters, Kayli and Kristi, as well as Luke and Dusty. Also in the extended family are Randy Rasco, his wife Jami and daughter Malley; the Stuart-Hight Families and the “Tyler Clan”.
