Eddie A. Simpkins age 66 years old, passed away on September 16, 2023, at Inpatient Hospice in Abilene after a 15 month battle with cancer.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday September 23, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremiah Ramberg of Legacy Church in Greenacres Fla. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Eddie was born in Odessa Texas to Earl and Autney Simpkins on December 12, 1956. He went to school in Stamford Texas where he graduated high school in 1975. He married Mary (Ramberg) Simpkins on May 13, 1981, in Waco Texas. They had 42 wonderful years of marriage. Eddie worked 30 years for various dealerships in Abilene as their Service Warranty Administrator.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl Gaines Simpkins and Autney (Simpkins) Nash, Sisters Davis (Dee) Germany, Margie Stevens and Becky Simpkins, Brothers Troy and Preston Simpkins, Nephew Mark Stevens, Niece Pam Alexander.
He is survived by his wife Mary, our Son Brandon with wife Tiffany Simpkins of Highland Village TX, Grandchildren Sophie and Gaines Simpkins, Brother Bob Simpkins and wife Joy of Midland TX, Sister Zoann Price of Abilene. Several Nieces and Nephews and spouses.
Eddie loved football, playing golf, traveling, fishing, and spending time with the family. But most of all he adored his grandchildren. He loved every minute with the grandkids. They especially loved him taking them to Below Five to buy 1 toy.
Pallbearers will be: Gabriel Ramberg, Mike Germany, Chad Simpkins, Bobby Simpkins, Kyle Stevens.
In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Hendrick Hospice Care or MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston TX.
