Ed Nusspickel, 76, passed away at an Abilene medical center on Monday, November 12, 2012.
The second child of Frederick A. and Mary Ellen (Garvey) Nusspickel, he was born on October 27, 1936 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Ed grew up in Ossining, New York where he attended schools before serving in the United States Air Force from 1955 - 1961. The Air Force brought him to Texas where he married Martha Pate in May of 1959. He and Martha had one son.
His passion for working with the public led him to the automotive industry, car sales, parts sales, and parts manager. He was also the owner and manager of Nusspickel Realties for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frederick John Nusspickel.
Ed is survived by wife Martha, his son Lance Nickels, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren all of Abilene; one sister Mary McBride and one brother Jerry Nusspickel both of Pennsylvania; and a host of friends.
He will be missed by all that knew him.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene with Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
