Earl “Mack” Dumis, Jr., 75, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2018 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jim Ritter officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Mack was born in Abilene, Texas to Earl Dumis and Vesper Roberson Dumis on July 17, 1942. He attended school in Tye, Texas and graduated from Abilene High School in 1960. He married Anita Willis on July 27, 1963 in Abilene, Texas. Mack and Dickie Breeding formed a company, B&D Folders in 1974 building industrial sewing machine attachments known in the clothing industry as “folders.” They operated the company for over 40 years servicing companies such as Dickies, Levi and Wrangler jeans as well as other retailers. Mack served 6 years in the National Guard. He was also a musician and singer, loved country music and recorded in Nashville, Tenn.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and an infant daughter.
Mack is survived by his wife, Anita, daughter Kami Dumis, sons Cole and Kyle Dumis.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice. The family of Mack would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Big Country and especially Mack’s primary care doctor, Dr. Vincent Van Acht.
