Earl Carmack

Earl Lee Carmack, 92, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Abilene.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, with Dr. Clifford S. Stewart officiating.

Earl was born in Abilene to Cecil Arnetta (Pinkard) and Manuel McKinley “M.M.” Carmack on December 1, 1931. He married Darlene Wehba Shadid on June 24, 2000 in Abilene. Earl was the Photo/projection/public relations manager for KRBC for 21 years and KTXS for seven years before retiring. He was a member of First Central Presbyterian Church.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Doris Carmack; son, Steven Carmack; daughter, Sherry Carmack; grandson, Steven Casey; and sister Billie Kinzle.

Earl is survived by his wife, Darlene Carmack; son, Scott Carmack and wife Angela; daughter, Sheila Casey and husband John; sister, Kay Butler; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
