Douglas William (Doug) McLennan Douglas William (Doug) McLennan, 40, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at his residence in Hawley, Texas. Born in Denton, Texas on July 26, 1972, Doug was the son of Carolyn Elizabeth (Petty) and William Henry McLennan. In 1995, he moved from San Saba, Texas to Abilene where he was a mechanic for Eagle Aviation. Doug was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry McLennan and his grandparents, William Wilson and Ruth T. McLennan of Clifton, TX and Norman and Joy Petty of Zephyr, TX. Doug is survived by his mother, Carolyn Poer and husband Arlan, and a sister, Sharon McLennan, all of Sanger, Texas; great aunts: Sally Jo McLennan Truhlar and husband Robert of China Spring, Louise McLennan Horton of West Lake, OH; great uncle, Lone Davis McLennan of Spring, TX as well as many cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, in China Spring Cemetery near Waco, Texas. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for Research, 3402 North 1st Street, Suite 102, Abilene, TX 79603.
