Dortha Jean Walden

Dortha Walden, 86, of Abilene Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22 surrounded by family. A private family service was held earlier this week. Dortha was born in Oklahoma, to Jesse Carl and Rosa Mae Standifer, on January 10, 1935. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1952. She married Wade Walden on June 6, 1958. She went to work for ARMC in 1988 and retired in 2000. Dortha was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dortha was preceded in death by her husband Wade of 55 years, her son Mike Walden, Brothers Harry Standifer, Gene Standifer and Kenneth Standifer, and sisters Leola Denney and Ruby Knox. Dortha is survived by JC Walden, Jenna and Jim Moore, Jeff Geist, grandsons Michael Moore and Brady Moore, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to rescue the animals Or Taylor County Humane Society.
