Dorothy Wages

Dorothy “Dot” Wages, 89, of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel.   Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Dot was born on July 8, 1929 in Abilene to the late Eddie and Maudie (Haynes) Russell.  She graduated from Abilene High School in 1946 and attended Abilene Christian College. She and Don Wages were married on December 29, 1948 in Abilene. He preceded her in death in October 11, 1989.  Dot was a homemaker as well as she owned and operated Good Times Travel in Abilene. She was a past member of the Slippers Club. She was an avid dancer and loved to entertain. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a resident of Abilene all her life.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Debbi Tucker and husband Travis of Cedar Creek, Texas; her son, Gary Wages of S Padre Island, Texas; three granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
