Dorothy Jean O'Dell, 79, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 South 27th St, Abilene, Texas 79605. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene with the Pastor Wes Terry of Broadview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Dorothy Jean was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Robert and Dorothy Anthony on December 8, 1936. She attended Abilene High School from which she graduated. Jean married E.D. (Digger) O'Dell on August 1, 1959 in Abilene Texas. She worked as Office Manager for Dr. Jack Judd for 20 years. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband E.D. Digger O'Dell, grandson Jacob Scott O'Dell, brother Robert Owen Anthony, sister Gussy Oneita Anthony Wilson. Jean is survived by Dennis and Janet O'Dell of Tuscola TX, Michael O'Dell of Clyde TX, Lee and Jennifer O'Dell of Tuscola TX, Robert and Paige O'Dell of Tuscola TX; grandchildren Renee O'Dell, Clay O'Dell, Brandon O'Dell, Josh and wife Randi O'Dell, Meagan O'Dell, Justin and wife Ashley O'Dell, Jayden O'Dell, Chadd O'Dell, and Madison O'Dell. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin, Brandon, Chadd, Josh, Jayden, and Clay. Memorials may be given to Broadview Baptist Church or the donor's favorite charity.
