Dorothy Franke Huff

Dorothy Huff, 96, of Abilene, passed away on April 19, 2016 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday April 22 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on April 23 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Richard Melton and Don Newhouse of Southern Hills Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00PM at the Millersview, TX cemetery. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Dorothy Huff was born at Cross Plains, TX to Henry and Juna Mae Franke on May 1, 1919. She went to school at Millersview. She graduated from Millersview High School. She married Challis Albert Huff on May 3, 1941. Dorothy spent her entire life taking care of others. She was an LVN and worked for many years at Cox Hospital. She worked well into her 80s volunteering at the Christian Service Center. Dorothy Huff was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers Floyd Franke and Worth Franke and Grandson Kyle Huff. Dorothy Huff is survived by her children Linda Franey, Mike Huff and wife Terrye, and Kay Cramer and husband David; grandchildren Chris Huff and wife Jenny, Rebecca Groban and husband Justin, Laura McKinnis and husband John, Patrick Huff and Mitchell Franey; great-grandchildren Carson and Grace Groban. Pallbearers will be Chris Huff, Patrick Huff, Mitchell Franey, Manoah Franke, Justin Groban, John McKinnis Memorials may be given to the Christian Service Center in lieu of flowers.
