There was a great celebration in Heaven on September 18, 2015 as Dorothy Carlisle, 85, went to meet her Savior and Lord and all of her family that has gone before. Visitation will be 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21st at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Steven Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in Sweetwater, Texas at 2:00p.m. Dorothy Imogene Carlisle was born in Nolan County to James and Lottie Reed on April 19, 1930. She worked as an LVN for 30 years and retired from Ethicon. She moved to Abilene twelve years ago. She loved attending church, Bible studies, Rocking Moms, and reading. She loved her family and friends and prayed for them daily. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father James Reed, her mother Lottie Reed, her brothers Alton Reed, Melvin Reed, Wayne Reed, and her sisters Edith Fuller, Inez Ebarb, and Flora Cohorn. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Shelda Johnson and husband Charles, her sister Mildred Sanders and husband Dale, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
