Dolly S. Larrison, 78, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at North Park Baptist Church with Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Admiral Cemetery in Callahan County. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Dolly Larrison was born in Admiral, Texas to Hop and Etta Summers on December 18, 1936. She went to school in Baird, Texas. She married Charles Larrison on January 4, 1985. She graduated from Tarleton State University with a Master’s in Education in 1975. Dolly retired from public school teaching in 1992 after 27 years of service. She worked as an Educator in K-5 elementary PE Harlingen ISD, K-5 elementary self-contained in Eula ISD, Newcastle ISD, Slidell ISD, Central ISD and San Elizaro ISD. She taught high school PE/Health as well as coached basketball, volleyball, tennis, and track in Stamford ISD. Dolly was favored by her students as a strong influence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Dolly is survived by her son, Ralph Cummings and his wife Pam Cummings of Lamesa, Texas; Lillian K. Hinson and her husband Joseph G. Hinson Sr. of Decatur, Texas; grandchildren, Haley Smith and husband Derrick Smith, Kirstin Nanny and Addi Cummings; and one great-granddaughter, Maegan Smith.
