Dodge Compton Hubbard, 92, of Abilene, Texas passed away peacefully with her family around her on June 25th, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal with Reverend Luke Back officiating. The inurnment will follow at the Columbarium at the Church with a reception in the Parish Hall. Dodge was born on July 14, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to Marion and Anna B. Compton. She married Morgan Richardson Hubbard, on November 3, 1945 in Dallas, Texas. In 1950, they moved to Abilene, Texas for Morgan's work in the oil and gas business. Dodge involved herself in many organizations dear to her heart including, the Junior League of Abilene, the Cotillion Club, Old Elmwood Sewing Club and the Center for Contemporary Arts. She loved time with her family, her church, painting, jewelry making, traveling and the many dear friends that she made over the years. Dodge was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Morgan Richardson Hubbard and eldest daughter, Janna Hubbard Edwards. She is survived by her children, Morgan R. Hubbard, Jr. (Buzzy), his companion Kathy Randolph, Ann Hubbard Hollandsworth, her husband Ken and Gentry M. Hubbard, his wife Katherine. Her grandchildren, Morgan T. Edwards (Ty), his wife Colette, Morgan R. Hubbard, III (Trey), his wife Kristin, Brooke Hubbard Elam, her husband James, William C. Hubbard (Cody), his wife Whitney, Taylor Hubbard and Morgan G. Hubbard. Her great grandchildren, Katelynn Pylate, Kilyn Hubbard, Payten Edwards, Bentley Edwards, Karsyn Hubbard and Leon Hubbard. The family of Dodge would like to extend their sincere thanks to Melinda Orona and Suzette Ray for their dedication in providing years of care and service for the well-being of Mrs. Hubbard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be given to the Church of the Heavenly Rest, West Texas Rehabilitation Center and the Center for the Contemporary Arts, or the charity of your choice. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
