Dixie Jones, of Abilene, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at the age of 75. Memorial services, with The Rev. Scott Mayer officiating, will be at 2:00 p.m.
Friday, May 30 at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Born in Ionia, Kansas, on March 31, 1933, Dixie was the daughter of the late John and Pansy Van Wey. She graduated from Ionia High School and Marymont College in Salina, Kansas. She was a Registered Nurse, working most of her life in Dallas, Texas. In 1988, Dixie moved to Abilene where she was a member of the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal. She enjoyed traveling abroad for many years.
Dixie is survived by her longtime companion, Rex B. Moore, of Clyde; one brother, Ace Van Wey and his wife Mary, of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Le Dean Menhuen, of Kansas; and two nieces, Angela and Pam.
