Devin James Contreras, 22, formerly of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday July 7, 2019 at the Elmwood West United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. with Jeff Hatcher officiating.
Devin was born on August 19, 1996 in Huntsville, Texas. He attended Abilene High School. In January 2019 he moved from Abilene to Raeford, NC and worked on a small ranch. Devin loved listening to music, reading, playing video games and Harley Davidson motorcycles. His desire was to become a certified Harley Davidson mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Calvet.
Devin is survived by his parents, Tanya and Angel Gonzales of Abilene; his siblings, Niki Contreras and fiancé Joey Dechert of Abilene, Ashlie Gonzales and fiancé Greg Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio, Chris Gonzales of Cleveland and Rachele Gonzales and fiancé Alex Fields of Abilene; his grandparents, Glenn and Bib Wittge of Kerrville, Texas and LaVerne Calvet of Huntsville, Texas; one niece, Abrea Fields; and two nephews, Maddex Fields and Brendon Gipson.
Family suggests memorials may be made to TechForce Foundation Tuition Scholarships or Elmwood West United Methodist Church Youth Group in lieu of flowers.
