Dennis Craig Brewster passed away on December 29, 2020 in Abilene, Texas. He was born on Friday, November 30, 1945 to Ernestine and Ben Brewster in Brownwood, Texas. The Brewster family moved to Odessa, Texas when Dennis was a child. Dennis graduated from Odessa High School in 1964. Dennis excelled in sports; he played basketball for both McMurry University and Texas Tech University. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1969. He also served in the Army National Guard. Dennis married the love of his life, Sally Jane Lewis on July 26, 1969. They have been happily married for over 51 years. They began their life together teaching, coaching and welcoming two sons in Lamesa, Texas. Many lifelong friendships and new interests were found during their time in Lamesa. One of which included Dennis’s love for the car business. Eventually, the family moved to Abilene, Texas where Dennis’s career would thrive, and the family would spend many happy years together. Dennis served the Abilene area for over 25 years as sales manager for Lawrence Hall.
Dennis, affectionately known as “Frosty”, by those who knew and loved him well, will forever be remembered as a gentle spirited yet tough, witty, honest, determined, and hardworking man. Frosty rarely missed a day of work, in fact he would be there now if he could. His Faith and Will to live were remarkable! Some of Frosty’s happiest moments were often the simplest spent on the golf course or in the backyard grilling with his two sons and Sally.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sally; son Rhett and wife Danielle of Lubbock; grandchildren Eleah Catherine, Analeese Jane, Madelyn Elizabeth, and Caroline Suzannah Brewster; son Devin and wife Christy of Horseshoe Bay; grandchildren Harlow Grace and Berkley Christine Brewster. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ernestine Brewster, brothers Tommy Brewster and Scott Brewster; and sister Beverly Brewster.
Services will be held in the courtyard at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander Street, Abilene, Texas on Wednesday, January 6 at 2 pm.
