David M. Thomas, 57, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Midland.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 24, at Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Pastor Phillip Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
David was born in Ranger, Texas to Pat and Dorotha Jean Thomas on May 29, 1952. He was a graduate of Abilene High School, Class of 1970, and attended San Angelo State University. He married his high school sweetheart, Carla Key, on June 22, 1974. He worked as a salesman for Motorola and Glenayre for 19 years.
David is survived by his wife, Carla of Houston; son, Brad and Mary Thomas of Denton; second son, Darin Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C., daughter, Jennifer and Joshua Schumacher of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Presley and Scarlett. Survivors also include his parents, Pat and Jean Thomas of Midland; mother-in-law, Imogene Key of Abilene; brothers, Rick and Mary Ellen Thomas and Bruce and Jere Thomas; sister, Sylvia Thomas Cook; three sisters-in-law, Brenda and Lynn James, Sylvia and Mike Ward and Phyllis and Mark Beebe; and several nieces and nephews.
